Biddanda Bopanna Ashok Kumar or B.B.Ashok Kumar, also known as 'Tiger Ashok Kumar', was born in Parane village, Virajpet, Kodagu, Karnataka, India, who retired as the Assistant Commissioner of Police. This book is the compilation of anecdotal stories related to the cases during his career. 

In this book he extensively describes his experiences during the combing operations conducted in the forests of Madhumalai in search of the notorious smuggler Veerappan.
